The Healer

Will Siu talks with Stina Daag on the the importance of self expression, the potentials of psychedelics, and the art of healing.

Will Siu MD, DPhil, completed medical training at UCLA and a doctorate in immunology at the University of Oxford. He continued with psychiatric training at Harvard Medical School, where he remained on faculty for six years, before moving to New York City to further study and practice psychedelic-assisted therapies. His work as a public educator has reached a wide audience through speaking, writing, and social media outlets. Will enjoys climbing and mountaineering in his free time. He maintains an office in upstate New York for patient care and provides clinical supervision to psychiatrists/psychologists @will.siu.md

 

Stina: Could you share a little bit about how you found your calling? What is the essence of your work and how does it keep your inner light burning?

 

Will:  The essence of my work is healing, which I define as discovering the discrepancies between how we are living and how we want to be living; and to then make different choices from this place of awareness. The more departed we are from how we want to be living, the more pain we feel. The closer we are to our essence and authenticity, the more freedom and aliveness we experience.

I found my way to my current work through becoming a healer, in the current conventional sense, by becoming a physician and in seeking my personal healing within
