Johanna “Enough” in conversation with Elizabeth Flint

Photoraphy by Andreas Öhlund & Maria Therese

Johanna Enough isn’t your typical professional dancer. She is natural, honest, and real. This may be why her videos are so popular. In some she wears full makeup and costume—looking like a true performer. In others she wears glasses and a sweater, her hair pulled back: how the average woman might look dancing in front of the mirror at home. But her sensuality is what stands out most, transcending outer appearance. She is truly tapped into the energy of her second chakra, the sacral chakra, located in the pelvis.

“The pelvis is the part of the body that is most important for the Dancehall movement,” Enough says. “It’s not necessarily talked about, but I see it as a spiritual experience and a ritual—the energy escalates and it becomes a spiritual oneness with everyone in the place. You feel the movement in your body coming from the pelvis, and then you feel it together with everyone in the place.”
