Ana Prvački is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice ranges from immersive performances to mixed reality, and from watercolor and painting to video. Drawing inspiration from close observation of contemporary life, her interventions are meant to transform the viewer’s perception and experience of daily life and routine, and provide solutions to our everyday problems, worries, and fears without pretention. Embodying a cosmopolitan spirit, Prvački’s work transcends boundaries and invites viewers into a dialogue between the ephemeral and the enduring, the personal and the universal. She has presented her work at numerous international venues and her book of watercolors, Flowering Under Stress is published by Sternberg Press with an essay by Zadie Smith. @ana_prvacki

Ana: Hey, I’m so grateful you said yes to this conversation.

Maria: Yes! I’m excited to have an opportunity to go a little deeper into one of my favorite subjects, the chakras, and especially the sixth chakra. But before we start, do you have a favorite grounding technique that you use when you get scattered or overwhelmed? What do you do to return to your focus?

Ana: I’ve been doing these tapping exercises that I find really helpful.

Maria: I see you started by tapping on your head and then on your face and around the third eye point?

Ana: Yes, tapping is very grounding. I use it a lot these days, as it’s so easy to feel disembodied.
